The School of Informatics at the University of Bradford (Brad) is a focus of multi-disciplinary research and education, combining areas of digital media, parallel computing for image processing, image coding, video processing, computer graphics, modelling, computer animation, visualization, virtual reality, solar imaging, HCI, video transmission, design, and media production. The School currently has 145 PhD research students and more than 20 research assistants working on various nationally funded and EU funded research projects.

Experience

Video processing, summarisation, and content management;
Video mining towards knowledge extraction and discovery;
Machine learning towards intelligent video content processing; and
Content based image/video retrieval in both pixel and compressed domain.

Project Role

Developing a range of video content processing tools and algorithms for video summarisation, annotation, content-based indexing and retrieval, knowledge extraction and events analysis.
