LIVE System
LIVE Components
During a broacast the LIVE system automatically analyses and processses four different types of data feeds:
-
live event multi-stream video feeds;
-
related event database services;
-
relevant archived material (clips); and
-
consumer feedback data.
The LIVE system consists of four main components; metadata extraction and annotation tools, an intelligent media framework, a recommender and feedback system and special services dedicated to the production of interactive multi-channel TV. The Metadata Extraction and Human Annotation tools analyse and annotate the incoming multi stream audio-video content from the event. The Recommender system collects and analyses information about the TV consumers, and provides personalised content recommendations based on the channel profiles. The Intelligent Media Framework (IMF) ensures that the meaning of and the access to information across the system is formalised and managed. Its role in the production process is to accept and handle partial information about particular media items (derived through the application of the automatic and manual annotation), to add semantic information to the items and to infer and attach contextual knowledge to the items related to the staged event. It also provides knowledge services that offer controlled vocabularies related to the current context of a stream, to guarantee the unambiguousness of the terms used.
