Feedback Application Functionalities
Feedback Application allows the production team to setup advanced options on the observation of the target channels, audience groups, and votings. At the same time it also provides simple tools to track the feedback events, and to alert the production team if some unwanted behavior is observed.
Customization of the feedback observation
The tree structure on the left side of the window comprises four different sections: Compare channels, Compare audience groups, Audience voting and Graph in window. Each section is expandable via green arrow located left to the section. Expanded view of a section offers options for setting feedback observation parameters.
-
The user can select different analysis intervals from last 5 minutes to last 24 hours, or he can observe recorded history of the target channel.
-
He can select the type of the graph which best suits to the feedback modality.
-
The user can set up the channels to be observed by the system, as well as the target groups to be observed.
Notifications and alerts for the production team
Time-based chart provides some additional options and functionalities. To the right of the graph title there is a set of buttons, which are used for displaying graph markers. Markers denote a moment in time when something significant happened (the director initiated a voting, sent a message etc.). There are three types of markers: for votings, for messages and for time-intervals. The markers allow the team to easily observe the effect of some action (such as initiation of voting) on the audience over time.
Besides the markers, the time-graph provides an option of alarming the user about some important trends (positive or negative) in the audience. An example of a negative trend would be a sudden drop in number of viewers on a channel or no viewers on a channel. When an event occurs, the system alarms the user by painting a colored frame around the chart on which the event occurred. The frame is colored red for negative events and green for positive.
Audience trends
Histogram charts display trend markers to make it easier for the user to have a feeling about whether the number of viewers is increasing or decreasing. The Feedback GUI remembers the past values of viewers on different channels and compares them to the present values. It then draws line indicators where previous values used to be. The lines are coloured red and green, depending whether the number of consumers decreased or increased.
